Injections for Muscle relaxation
Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are Health Canada approved prescription neuromodulators indicated in Canada for both cosmetic and therapeutic use. These treatments are commonly used to soften dynamic lines and wrinkles while also addressing medical concerns such as chronic migraines, muscle tension, and excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), including underarm sweating.
Neuromodulators are highly purified proteins that work by temporarily relaxing targeted muscles through blocking communication between the nerve and the muscle. By reducing muscle contraction in treated areas, treatment can minimize unwanted muscle activity, soften expression lines, and improve symptoms related to muscle overactivity or excessive sweating.
Following a detailed medical assessment, our licensed health care providers in Waterloo carefully evaluate each patient’s anatomy, facial expression, and muscle movement to create a customized treatment plan tailored to individual needs and symptoms.
Most patients report minimal discomfort during treatment. Initial results may begin to appear within 24 to 48 hours, with full results typically seen at 14 days.
The effects of neuromodulator treatments are temporary and, when administered at an appropriate dosage, typically last 3 to 4 months.
Treatment cost varies between patients and will be discussed during the initial consultation.
Common treatment areas include frown lines between the eyebrows, crows feet at the outer corners of the eyes, horizontal forehead lines, areas affected by excessive sweating, such as the underarms.
